What happens when.......

I want to know what happens when the FAD of tattoos end? All these people who talk about tattooing and wanting to open shops and they no all so F the pros. Its crazy to see how many people are trying to get into this market because of money or fame or whatever they think. I mean i love tattoos as much as the next guy but im not looking to be a artist or owner. I feel this industry is already over run with bad artist and wannabe studios. Why can't people just love the art and leave tattooing to those who actually are talented? But hey what do I know I'm sure all the scratchers will be down my throat. later

I hear what you're saying but i dunno if i would ever label tattoos or tattooing as a "fad" since it has been around for quite some time. I do agree that within the past year or two we have seen a huge increase and breakthrough of tattoos, tattooing, tattoo related imagery, ad campaigns, etc. into the mainstream public. And like everything that sees breakthroughs into the mainstream, there will always be people that try to take advantage and capitalize on that. So i do agree with you, people need to respect the art and the history of tattoing and leave it up to the professionals. And if they feel they are capable and want to pursue the art, they better put their time in, pay their dues, respect its history, learn the art and be able to put out quality work. ok im done, sorry for the long post...

Notice how rail road tracks after time fade into the earth ? Kind of like it heals itself from the scar placed upon it. To purify the tattoo industry we need to encourage more people to enter the field, Encourage more people with money to open up studios. Once there is 10 studios in each city in American, The shine of the Tattoo signs will be gone, The fad will be over, Every little secret will be out, all the mystery gone, then and only then will tattooing return to the raw core asset it was 15 or 20 years ago. Like the grass & earth taking back the land from the railroad tracks, The more train tracks there are the less they will be used, until only the tracks worth traveling will be left.

As with ANYTHING that can be prostituted to make money the advertsing Nazis and their masters "the CORPORATE WORLD" has found that tattoo art sells. Not a lot we can do about it.But ya have a point

By FAD I meant the recent growth in popularity. With shows like Miami Ink and Inked I don't think they spread the word about the industry and what makes a good artist or studio from a bad one. They just have the drama. I mean I guess everyone should be able to make the all mighty buck but i don't like it. I try to point friends and others in what i think is the best direction for a tattoo and where to go who to see but in the end most people want to go to the guy were he doesn't have to a month or two and is cheaper. I think that with all the hype thats out there, people in the industry should try even harder to educate people. Maybe this is all bull but i thought i would post it anyway. later
