What do you call this style

Hi. I am looking to get a Geisha tattooed on the left of my chest like the one below. Was wondering if someone could tell me what style this piece is or if there is a certain name for this type of geisha. Not that I could tell you much about styles or anything but a better picture or some more pictures of the general look you're going for might help ya get a more informative response. But really , you could take all those pictures ya find to an able tattoo artist , who's work you admire or approve of and have them work out a nice custom piece for you. Who cares what the style is called so long as you end up with a piece of timeless art on your body you'll be proud of.

yeah thats the problem, i cant seem to find anymore images of that style in ordser to draw all the elements together that i like. my other cheast piece was an orginal piece of art but has all the elements that i wanted in it.

Well start with what you have I guess. Find out who did the work, find out who the collector was, see if you can get pictures from one or both of them. Of the finished product. That'd probably help your cause, if it's possible anyhow.

Hey it looks to me like the image is just traditional japanese. I did a google image search using "geisha art" and got a lot of images that look like what you're looking for. here's also ”Tattoo” I think looks like what you're looking for.

This is a pretty dumb question, actually. Geisha girl is japanese. Instead of asking a bunch of questions like where does she come from or her history, just search and read a little. There are plenty different style of geisha girls. The particular drawing style which you were asking about is traditional japanese. The reason why true japanese tattoos are special is because they are timeless, rich in tradition and culture. Some guys can pull off a geisha girl thats new skool, specifically somebody like Joe Capobianco, while most new skool tattoos really fall short and look cartoony and cheesy. My suggestion to you, if you really like the image of the geisha, then become more familar with that style of art. It isn't really that dumb a question. I just thought that the geisha I linked may have had a certain name for its style other than traditional. Will check those links out tho.

google images has a bunch of images, I bet if you tried google regualr you would be able to read lots of history too.
