Viking/Norse Tattoo

5 messages · last activity 5/30/2006

I am looking to get a forearm sleeve tattoo done in greyscale shading (no colour) of a Viking/Norse battle scene. I wish I knew an artist to draw something like that for me, but no such luck. I have been browsing the net for quite some time now looking at fantasy art and paintings, but haven't found anything close. Could anyone point me in the right direction or give me some suggestions? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance...
Being of Norwegian descent I have spent a lot of time doing research into the area. I would suggest you hit your local library. On another note though make sure if you do it that it's true to the Norse. Recently historians have found that the Viking never wore helmets with horn, and in fact cleaner then the Europeans. I would suggest looking up depictions of "Berserkers", and or Norse Mythology for a truly bad ass design. Then look for some good celtic style knotting for some framing or backgrounding.
yeah im lookin for Norse tattoos and i havent found much luck but if ya'll find one please let me know at [email removed]
You can also go to a good custom tattoo artist in your area
I would talk to the custom tattoo artists in your area, it may take a while to find someone that can put on paper what is in your head but it will be worth it. I looked for about a year to find he right artist that could take my “story” and put it in tattoo form in the style I wanted. He has been working with me on the design my sleeve for about four months and I probably won’t get any ink for another month or so but it will be worth the wait.
