Ten Bucks a page isn't too much. I believe that flash has a few purposes. I"d imagine most artists and or shop owners are pretty damn busy as it is and don't necessarily have the time to draw enough flash to cover an entire shop (at least not at first). Not too mention you support the art when you purchase flash from another artist. So the business might be tight this month, better get some flash sold so I can pay the rent or whatever right? That and as hard as it is to mimic some of these artists when it comes to placing the ink in the skin, I believe your average walk in "hey I want a dragon" customers enjoy having a broad selection of styles and forms to choose from. Although I"d rather have the artist doing the inking do the drawing , alot of people just don't give a damn. That's why I kinda support the tattoojohnny sites and sites like that sure you can see the pictures but you can't just right click and steel them. That and these sites keep alot of struggling artists fed and they help begining artists get their name out there ever so slightly. Artistic plagerism might be the biggest form of flattery but it's also theft if not done ethically. On another note I do like the dragons , very nicely done. As far as flash goes I believe it's worth it by far just for the artwork alone. Ten Bucks for a piece of paper the artist probably spent hours on is well below what these men and women would make in a shop or drawing custom ideas for clients. But I do agree drawing your own would have tremendous benefits.

10 bucks isn't much for a sheet, but most decent flash comes in sets where you have to buy a bunch of crap just to get a couple of good designs! all i want is one sheet. maybe i'll call the dude.

Good Idea , I see where you're coming from on that. In that particular set (as great as the art is ) it seems a bit repetitive.

So I'm not a tattoo artist but am working on having an apprenticship set up with a guy (if he ever gets the damn shop open) but i do have an opinion about flash. The way I see it is that, if I ever get in the situation I would not have a problem doing flash nor having some tattooed on me. I am a decent artist but there is no way I can come up with every style of every possible design out there and some of the stuff out there is just plain great. I'll happily design and do my own custom stuff but, even though I can do my own designs, it doesn't keep me from liking a lot of the other stuff out there. And there is so much flash out there that the odds are pretty much against you ever running into someone that has the exact same tattoo as you in your lifetime.

Oh Blizzard you are so completely wrong...Man I have seen so many copies of flash tattoos on people It makes me wanna puke! For example that indian girl and the tiger face butterfly from Cherry Creek and so many more pieces of flash how could you NOT run into the same tattoo you have? I have no problem selling flash tattoos to clients but I ALWAYS make sure they understand that flash by its very nature is not exclusive and they may very well see their tattoo on someone else, that is if they don't allow the artist to modify the piece.

yeah, I dunno, I guess some flash is good for reference (there are certainly some awesome sets out there!) but there is so much reference in the world we dont have too many sets. One book.... Gutowski has a ton of photo reference and sketchbooks, a bookcase full of art books, and the internets. So i guess I agree, it would be nice to get the select sheets, but its not like the flash sets dont make their money back the first or second time it inspires someone... and the dough goes to an artist and good company behind the artist.
