the best age??

hi all, i just wanted to know when is the best age to get a tatttoo? i am thinking of getting one above ma rist just below my elbow but people say it would streche when ur skin is growing. i am 16 and i have problem getting one under 18 soo what use think??

No professional will tattoo you until you are 18

what if im wif my parents and i was just wondering. coz some ppeople say it would strech and look bad but some say it wont

borrowing from my kinesiology class....... You go through several growth spurts - the last being at 18-ish except for some small changes your body undergoes in your early 20s. Even if your body "matures early" it won't finish changing shape till you're at least 18. Wait till then.

I got my first tattoo when I was about 12 or 13 from some twacked out heroin junky fresh out the pokey , great artist , decent tattoo , little regret. Was it a damn fool of an idea? You bet your ass it was. I firmly believe that ANY tattoo that ANYONE is planning on getting being of age or not , should have more than just a week or two's thought put into it. Your ideas and beliefs change alot as your grow and mature and learn. And do you really need a constant reminder on your wrist of how to spell your name? You didn't say what you were planning on getting and I don't really give a damn but I'm saying at 16 it's probably something a bit trendy and not too well thought out , might be wrong but hell idk , if it's something that indeed has some great importance to you and your life and will continue to carry it's meaning forever and ever , cause really tattoos don't wash off, then what's the rush? Be a kid play some basketball , make out with a few fat chicks , get in a few fights with big kids, worry about S.A.T.'s be young. It's way more fun than paying bills and feeding mouths , promise. Don't get tattoos. Back to my first tattoos , it covered nearly all of my lower fore arm , and yeah uh prospective employers take a good look and almost immediately change their minds or jump to conclusions about young individuals who've made permanent decisions such as you're planning. If you want a tattoo bad enough you will get one I know this much is true but if you've half a brain in there you'll take some serious time and put some serious thought into what it is you would like to get. you've waited 16 years what's 2 more eh?

The fact that you even bothered to ask our opinion shows some maturity. If you take our advise it will show a lot more maturity. At sixteen, I wanted a tattoo as well, but I waited, and ended up getting something completely different. Now I know, being only 18, that I'm going to change a lot during the rest of my life.. I may not be the same person I am today, and I know I'm not the same person I was 8 months ago when I got my tattoo.. but, it's a daily reminder for me of what drove me to get my tattoo, and it helps me keep a positive outlook on life. For those of you who don't know.. I did get a koi tattoo. I know koi are really trendy/popular right now, but the koi for me is a reminder of how much work I put into learning about the Japanese culture, and learning Japanese, as well as the actual symbolism of the koi itself. The way it's pictured, it means overcoming obstacles, as well as all the other meanings of the koi, longevity, good luck, et cetera. For me, I chose the koi because I felt like I was closing that chapter of my life, where everything was an obstacle for me to overcome. And yeah, I've had a few obstacles since then, but nothing like before. Everytime I look at my tattoo, I remember what it felt like to be in those situations, and how it feels now, and it's just a reminder that I never want to be in that situation again. It helps me keep a positive outlook on life.. and I'm happy that I waited to get my tattoo until I was 18, because it means so much more to me than it would have two years ago, or hell, even a year ago. I guess what I'm saying is, definitely wait. Take some serious time to explore yourself, and choose something that's going to mean something to you your entire life..

Taz... you delivered that with the appropriate dead-pan indifference at this point. I want to do this one, but I just can't. It's been done so many times. But the suspense is killing me... Will she listen? Won't she listen? One thing's for sure, this teenager is a lot more mature than the 6 thousand that have asked this question before... right? Ugh. Kid, it's a bad idea for so many reasons I can't even list em. Listen to these guys. In my opinion, the perfect age is 30.

I would say 30, but I don't think some tattoos should be got at any age. As to well thought out tattoos. 18&up is the law in most places, but I believe it is individually independent. I got my first at 19 and 2nd at 26. With a wife that's an apprentice I will likely have many more by 30. So far I have regretted none. My first I had planned for years and finally got it. If at any age your thinking of a tattoo wait a year minimum. (Unless it's for a specific reason, a family member died... or another extreme circumstance, but should be properly planned even then.) Up to 18 wait at least two years, at 15 or under wait till 18. That's my thought on all of that.
