Tattoos on hips for men

I'm wondering what people think of guys getting tattoos placed low on their hips as more of an intimate tattoo. Good? Bad? Limitations to consider? Thanks.

I was at a shop in New York,and this male tattooer showed me a octupus on his hip by Joe Capobianco..And it was really nice..

i have a guitar going from just below my underarm to where my waistline is. i guess it runs my whole side and not just my hips, but i dont think that is a girlie place to get a tattoo at all. go for it, but i have to warn you the hips hurt a lot more than the ribs, dont let it persuade you from getting a piece there, but know it will hurt!

Any design ideas that would be cool. I'm not looking to get anyting that large. I know I want a tat there, I just can't decide what. Thanks.
