right artist?

hi ! im 20 years old and ive wanted a tattoo sinds i was like 12.. i have had my first design ready for over 3 years know! (my best friend designed it)and im tottally in love with it.. its pretty big: my total back and my shoulders.. now al i need is an artist.. the most safe place would be to go to the local shop (the artist there is pretty famous in the region and hese very good!) that wil probelly cost me over a 1000 euro .. but my father is friends with an even more know artist in the region,, this friend was the teacher of the local shop artists.. he was the fist tattoo artist with his own shop in the region.. he kinda lost everything (not tattoo related) he does stil tattoo people in his home..,. now i know he will do it for far less than 1000 euro but most important i think i would like the tattoo more if he did it ive known this guy for a long time and i think the tattoo would feel better if it was done in a home i know and by a guy i know .. how do you guys feel about home tattooing?

If he is licensed, health board inspected and approved then go for it!! What diff could it make...if he is not then BEWARE!!!
