rememberance tattoo for dad and grandpa

Hey Y'all My grandfather passed away fivers years ago in may and my dad just recently went missing. when i turned 18 i got a pair of blue angel wings on the back of my calf but didnt put anything between them because i didnt know what i wanted. i love and miss my papa and dad very much and am looking to finish my tattoo now two years later. i had some ideas about getting a cross or trequatras between the wings but it seems trite....any ideas for a unique tattoo to remember the most amazing men in my life?
