Question about Placement

Ijust rencently starting dating a guy I have known for about 20 years and he has a small open heart tattoo on the bottom left corner of his left eye. I have always wanted to know what the meaning is but just can't do it. I know all my tattoos to me and he's never asked about mine so I really don't want to ask him. I was hoping someone here would know the meaning.... Thanks
