More celeb tatoos... uh oh....

I've seen quite a few octopus tattoos...can anyone tell me why they're getting so popular? Is it just because they're cool looking (or because a celebrety like john fuscante has one), or do they have a historical meaning? Just wondering...octopus seem kinda random to me.

octopi are neat. so are squids, but octopi are neater. hell i'd get one and i think most people's tattoos are retarded.
