So, i'm sceduled tomorrow at noon to finaly get tattooed. But now, im not having second thoughts, but I am quite nervous. I guess it's a ,little mox of excited/anxious and nervous, actually =P. First one, as ive already said before, so maybe thats why. It's just kind of nervewracking to think that this thing will be on me for the rest of my life. I really like it and everything, but still =P. Is this pretty normal, especially for a first timer?
Thanks.
Normal to be nervous?

.......When your old it will be all the things you DIDNT do that you will regret.
Totally Normal. You're gonna love it. If it's pain, forget about it. Non-issue.
If it's the design, if you love it, you're good. Congratulations! As my wife always says, nervousness is just excitement....
Thansk for the comfort. And about the pain- not worried at all. I handle pain very well, so it should be fine. Plus, its on my shoulder, and I ehar that spot is one of the least hurting places to get one.
Kmesiano hit it right on the head...ya usually only regret what ya didn't do....you'll be fine ...hell everyone is nervous the first time...you just make sure to send me a pic man!
Great tattooing!...TAz
Nervous? How about almost throwing up! I was standing there and he was drawing the design on my back. I noticed I was getting REALLY hot and then it sort of hit me. I ran to the bathroom, calmed down, and then gathered myself. I asked him to turn on the fan and away he went. I guess you could say I was nervous. I wasn't nervous about the pain though, I think it must have been the whole process.
that reaction is very common which is why I keep my shops VERY cool @ 65 degrees year round...I find that this, in conjuction with a fan kept handy helps to avoid those "Hot Spells" that frequently lead to fainting and vomiting...And always eat lightly before a proceedure!...Read on...
Heres a shop story for ya...a kid came in for a tongue piercing...he was told to get something in hs stomach because he was really nervous....he said he was hot so we turned the fan on him...and waited til he was comfortable....Tassja was about to spear him when all of a sudden he turned the prettiest shade of green and projectile vomited directly into the fan effectively covering himself, Tassja and the piercing room with what appeared to be brown cottage cheese!....we found out later that he had forgotten to eat at home and stopped at the convenience store down the block and chugged a whole quart of chocolate milk and a LEMONADE!!!!Do you have any idea what lemonade does to chocolate milk?...Instant cottage cheese!...in an UGLY shade of brown!
We were cleaning up chocolate cottage cheese for DAYS!!!...TAz
Haha, i'll definately take a picture. Yeah like I said, I guess its just the whole idea that I have to live with this until the day I die.. but, I like it, so I dont know what to be nervous about =P
Oh man, chocolate cottage cheese.. gross =P
Oh man, chocolate cottage cheese.. gross =P
Oh man, chocolate cottage cheese.. gross =P
Now wait a minute... IS THIS DAVE D AGAIN?
Dave, I thought I told you to grow a set about your design!!!! Stop worrying! Your gonna be just fine! Nobody can explain to you how not a big deal it is, so you are gonna just have to trust us.
You are overanalyzing this permanence thing. I mean think about it. Every single day of your life you make decisions that are permanent. You can never go back. Once you've eaten the turkey sandwich for lunch, you can never go back and eat the roast beef sandwich instead. Oh, sure, you can eat the roast beef sandwich too, but it's not the same as the original decision you made. There's no going back. All of us are products of decisions we've made every day. I have a 13 inch scar on my ribs where they took half of my lung out on one side as a result of a martial arts accident. I have 5 bullet hole shaped scars that accompany the long one as a result of chest tubes they put in me to keep me alive. Frankly, they are all pretty fucking ugly. No, the chicks don't seem to dig them, and I wish they weren't there sometimes so I could be a chest shaving handsome boy modeling school graduate, but I can't. Teaching Kung fu is a decision I made. But the scars have become a part of who I am, and now, if you look at the whole package, I wouldn't be who I am without them. So the next time you get worried that you can't get this tat off, think about all the things everyday that you cannot go back and do over and it'll put it in perspective. Life is short my friend. Act! Do not react! Be who you wanna be. Don't worry about permanence. Nothing is permanent. It's all dust someday....
