memorial tattoo

i have a design my friend drew for me. its a sacred heart and at the top there is a nautical star and a banner around the heart with my dads name on it. i also want to get a little starburst flare in the background. you think that sounds/looks cool and if you knew and artists in maryland that are good with memorial/color work thanks bryan

It doesn't matter what looks or sounds cool to anybody else, if it has special meaning for you then that's all that matters. Especially for memorial tats. For instance we had a memorial tat done at our shop for this guys mother who was a mystery novel writer. When she passed he got an open book tattooed to him with a banner in the style of an old book marker ribbon. You could imagine what other people might think about that tattoo but it made him happy and he loved it, and that's all that matters.
