machine problems

ok , i have a problem . And i know i'm gonna get loads of flak from others - because i've read some other peoples posts . I've been a body piercer for 12 years - so i do have an autoclave , and i know all about sterile fields and cross contamination . I'm also an artist with a fair bit of experience . But i'm not trying to come across as arrogant - My apprenticeship was short to say the least in tattooing - i couldnt afford to support my family on what i was earning so i had to quit . I've learned alot about actually tattooing - but not enough about machine setup The problem is this . I'm using Danny B machines , and recently i'm finding that both my liner and my soft shader seem to be running really hard . The past few pieces i've done seem to be scabbing very excessively and one seemed almost on the brink of scarring - even though i'm only running an 1/8th of an inch deep as i have been taught . Plus , i still run off the end of my tubes as i don't intend to fuck up anyone by running too deep .I'm going at about 8 volts , and still no improvement - even though in my earlier work , i've been running at up to 12 volts to really get the colour in ( before i was a little more confident ) - and there were no problems . Can anyone help ? or at least not just abuse me for asking ?
