Help with tattoo idea in the NJ/NYC area

7 messages · last activity 6/1/2007

I need some help about an idea I'm working out in my head. I'm a big believer in the idea that time is the most valuable thing in life. It is the one thing no amount of money can ever buy back, and there is nothing you can do to stop time from running out on you. I would like to somehow convey this principle into a nice creative tattoo, but I am as unartistic as one can get. Are there any good artists who can help translate this into an artistic picture? This is one case I don't have any visual reference points, other than maybe an clockface or something, so it would be a piece I would have to let one creative soul work up. It's just one of those things that when I see it, I'll know if it's the one or not. Thanks in advance!
Go do the foot work,and visit shop's in NJ,and NY..You can go to Manhattan,and walk to a dozen shop's or more,and check out portfolio's..Do you wan't the tattoo in Black n grey,or color?Do you wan't a sleeve,or a half a sleeve?No artist is going to draw something,unless they have a deposit..I also like to meet the artist in person,to see if i feel comfortable with them.. joshua&[email removed] monkeymojo.com Seth&Steve [email removed] savedtattoo.com flyritetattoo.net holdfastbrooklyn.com whitelotustattoos.com immortalink.com eastcoasttattooco.com
Thanks for the suggestions above. I definitely don't mind doing the footwork and certainly would leave a deposit once I settle on an artist. I just need to know if good artists would take on this type of work, as I have no visual references such as pictures to give them. So it would be completely dependant on them taking the time to listen to my idea and being creative with it.

Sorry for the double post above. Some other additional details to the idea. I'm pictures something done in primarily black and gray. Also because time always running out isn't really a good thing, I want the overall picture to be a tad on the dark and distorted side. Nothing too carried away with the evil theme, but just a touch of darkness in the image theme.
An artist will take what you give them, and add some of their own creative ideas into an original custom tattoo..I would just ask for a cosultation with an artist who's work you like, and take it from there. Have them draw something up for you,and see if you like it.. check out www.darkimages.com these guy's do alot of black n grey custom work.. Thanks! I'm guessing I will have to really pinpoint 1 artist I really like. Cause it probably wouldn't work out well if I have a bunch of artists come up with a drawing, then I pick the one I like.
