Font research

I am still working on finding the perfect font for my tattoo. After a months worth of research the font that I finally came up with or should I say found seems to be alittle too over the top. I guess that brings me to two options one try and have my artist tone the font down or find a new font. Since the work is not going to be done till Septemeber reguardless of if he can change the font or not I think it may be best for me to continue looking for a new font. Does anyone know some good places to look for font insperation??

I have looked through most of the fonts ont 1001. I am pretty sure that I am going for some sort of gothic font. I just want it to look very original. Any other suggestions??

See if your artist can come up with a cool font. That's one way to go...

Go pick something with some history behind it like from Adobe's website... Like for example there are Blackletter fonts that come originally from Germanic tribes, there are woodtype fonts that come from the explosion of the industrial revolution, lots of cool stuff!! Like for example, did you know that the typeface "Caslon" was developed by British artist William Caslon, during the time of the revolution and ultimately was used for varying printings of the Declaration of Independence even though it was the Favored font of the British during that time?? Hmmm???? Did ya?? I like a little history with my typography....
