Excema and a tattoo?

5 messages · last activity 5/30/2006

Ive got a case of mild excema, on my arms. This is kind of a problem since i really want a half sleeve. Ive heard two sides, one, its not a problem what so ever, two the exact opposite and that it can lead to horrible problems. Does anyoin out thre have a tatoo, or know of someone who has tattoed over excema? Would be very helpfull casue id like to get it soon.
Stay off the exema. It doesnt really cause any harm, but it bleeds like mad. I have tried tattooing over it on a client that was getting a 1/2 sleeve. The Exema started right around his elbow, so there wasnt to much to contend with. But every bit that was on the exema completly fell out during the healing. If there is a proper way to tattoo over it I've never heard of it. If your getting a 1/2 sleeve is the exama on and around your elbow, or higher up? It may be possible to work around it. Good luck... Unfortnuiatly it covers my upper arm. Though i am thankfull for one thing. The back of my upper arms are 100% clean skin. So at least i can tatoo somewhere on my arm. Thanks for your reply saved me alot of money. -Andrew
As a custom freehand tattoo artist, I myself wouud use the excema area to my advantage and input those infected areas to a good "negative space" effect. But hey....that's just me! good luck bro. - your friend - Dave Storm
