custom artists

The admin for the board has a list of custom artist they suggest. How did you decide who gets the OK? I am work with Biagio at Starlight, but can't seem to find much other than a small portfollio which is the same as the one at his shop. I know he works for Mario Barth, who appears to be excellent. So, even though you recommend Biagio, I guess my question is shouldn't I go check out Mario Barth instead. Any feedback would be helpful. First tattoo, so I want the best artist around to do the piece. Thanks

Since this is to be your first tattoo and you seem to want the best don't limit yourself to any one source....do your homework and research any artist or shop it would be feasible to travel to...sometimes a bit of travel can be worth it...Mario is definately one of the best and I'm sure anyone working in any shop he is affiliated with has to be very good...just because an artist doesn't have many pics on the site doesn't mean he/she isn't a bang up kick ass artist!... And don't be put off if the artist you decide on has a waiting list...speaking in general most really badass artists Do have a waiting list and its usually because they are worth the wait! mario hires great artists. go to the shop check out all the artists portfolios including marios and make your decision based from that along with talking to the various artists. if you see mario let him know lara crocketts husband jay crockett from ct. refered you.. good luck.
