Black colour tattoes coming out dark blue...

So far I have 2 tatttoos. One in between my shoulders and another on my addominals. I asked for both of them to be done in black ink. The one in between my shoulders is healed now but my only beef is that it does not look truly black. It looks more dark navy blue. Is this just the way black ink looks? My skin colour is medium tanned. Does blank ink turn out better on very pale skin?
i think it depends on what ink you use. i use pelican and it dont do that
Hmm, I'm not sure about tattoo ink, but sometimes we get this problem when dying fabrics.... alot of blacks arent -pure- black... some have red, green, or blue overtones. I have no idea if this is the case with tattoo ink though, again, for the record. It's just what happens with fabric dyes, often.
it depends on a couple things. first thing im sure it was the ink. pelican is a stand by for many people but not for me i love Kuri Sumi. pelican i hard lightens up alot and gives a nice weathered look thats hard to explain. my mentor uses it strictly for portraits and detailed greywashing because of how it heals out. you mention medium skin. do you mean tanned? and if so... do you tan, work outside? how was the healing? most of all id say it was the ink, id ask what he used.
No i didn't tan while my tattoo was healing. It's just that I thought maybe because I am medium complexion that the black came out a little different than it would on someone who is very pale.
find out what ink was used
